Alongside the performances in the Arena, the Macerata Opera Festival presents EXTRA MOF, a programme of events designed to extend the Festival experience beyond the stage and strengthen its connection with the city and the surrounding area.
Concerts, talks, inclusive projects, cultural experiences and special events offer new ways to engage with opera and music, discover the Festival from different perspectives and experience the city of Macerata throughout the Festival season.
The 2026 programme includes:
- Aperitivi Culturali, a series of talks dedicated to opera, music and contemporary culture;
- InclusivOpera, the Festival’s internationally recognised accessibility programme;
- InOpera, introductory events designed to make the language of opera more accessible and engaging;
- Trovatore Audiotour, an immersive experience inspired by the world of Il trovatore;
- Jazz all’Opera, a concert exploring the dialogue between opera and jazz;
- Controluce, a concert by the Pueri Cantores “ Zamberletti” choir;
- Mozart 270, celebrating the 270th anniversary of the birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart;
- Voci all’Opera, the crossover gala performed by the female vocal trio Appassionante;
- Fuori Scena, a format combining cultural conversations with the promotion of local food and wine excellence;
- ABF Masterclasses, concerts featuring young talents from the advanced training programmes of the Andrea Bocelli Foundation;
- Le Vetrine MOF, a city-wide exhibition throughout the historic centre featuring costumes, props and Festival-inspired displays;
- Notte d’Opera, the traditional open-air opera concert in Monte San Giusto.
Unless otherwise stated, all EXTRA MOF events are free of charge.
