The 61th edition of the Macerata Opera Festival will be held at the Arena Sferisterio from 18 July to 10 August, 2025, opening with La vedova allegra by Franz Lehár, never performed before in this venue (shows will be on 18 and 27 July, 2 and 9 August). A symbol of the historic and artistic change between the Nineteenth and Twentieth century, this work will be presented in a brand new production, along with two masterpieces by Giuseppe Verdi, i.e. Rigoletto (19 and 25 July, 3 and 8 August) and Macbeth (26 July, 1, 7 and 10 August), revamped in the form of two, widely appraised Sferisterio productions signed by Federico Grazzini and Emma Dante.
Performances are scheduled to allow audiences to watch different shows over each weekend. Besides the three operas, the programme features one dance performance (30 July) and two concerts (31 July and 6 August), so that opera and music lovers coming from outside the region may stay longer.
From 13 December 2024 it is possible to buy tickets for the shows. All details will be communicated when the Macerata Opera Festival participates in the most prominent international trade fairs with Regione Marche (IFTM Top Resa at Paris, TTG Rimini, VTM at London).
