62nd edition of the Macerata Opera Festival
\nFrom 17 July to 9 August 2026<\/h2>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]With three operas on the programme and the special event Carmina Burana<\/strong><\/em>, the Macerata Opera Festival<\/strong> brings the Sferisterio back to the centre of the international opera scene.<\/p>\n

The season will open with Nabucco<\/strong><\/em>, returning to Macerata after more than ten years of absence, bringing one of Giuseppe Verdi<\/strong>‘s most emblematic operas back to the stage. The production is directed by Paul-\u00c9mile Fourny<\/strong>, making his debut at the Sferisterio.
\nAlongside this title, audiences will be delighted to see Il Barbiere di Siviglia<\/strong><\/em>, in the acclaimed production by Daniele Menghini<\/strong>, which won over audiences and critics alike in 2022.<\/p>\n

The opera trilogy closes with Il Trovatore<\/strong><\/em>, in Francisco Negrin<\/strong>‘s famous \u201cfiery\u201d production, which has become a landmark for the Festival.<\/p>\n

\nThe program is much more than just a simple guide: it is a resource for deeper understanding<\/strong> that accompanies the audience through every production on the season’s program, offering insights into the opera, the directorial and musical choices, as well as the complete libretto<\/strong>.
\nEnriching the volume are images by Christian Tasso<\/strong>, the Festival\u2019s official photographer, a native of Macerata and an internationally recognized artist for his documentary projects. After chronicling the world through his lens, today his vision captures the Festival\u2019s visual identity and extends its narrative beyond the stage.
